Abstract:

In this paper, a new scheme for serial communication is proposed. In this method, in addition to the Pulse states (high and low), either of negative slope or positive slope of the Pulse (saw-tooth waveform) is employed as a representative for another digit. Using Pulse slope as a representative for a sepaRate digit will result in sending two-bit-digits using a single Pulse, which doubles the transfer Rate. The proposed scheme can be used in both synchronized and asynchronized communications and can improve communication speed. Through simulating the proposed scheme, it turned out that this method, because of its proper immunity to noise, can be used as a peripheral interface alongside in-chip communication. The main idea in the raised discussion is to obtain four different geometric Pulse shapes acting as four different numbers in the quaternary numeric system, in which it can be serialized/desrialized as easy as Pulse states. This proposed method and the suggested system for serialization and deserialization of data can be an adequate alternative in high-speed communication approaches.

Background & Aim: Rapid breathing is an important clinical manifestation of many illnesses in young infants. Often it is the only sign of illness in this age group. The aim of this study is the evaluation of the respiratory Rate as an indicator of hypoxia in infants <1 months.Patients and Methods: This observational study was conducted on 222 ill neonates who were hospitalized in Rasool- Akram NICU. Age, sex and gestational age were recorded and Respiratory Rate (RR) was counted at complete one minute when the neonate was quiet. Then oxygen saturation (SaO2) was measured at finger or toe with a Pulse oximeter by another person. Hypoxia was defined as a SaO2<=90%. RR and SaO2 were recorded by 2 fix observers who were unaware of the research. The t2-test was done to find the usefulness of the respiratory Rate as indicator of hypoxia. Results: Hypoxia (SaO2<=90%) was seen in 100(45%) infants. RR and SaO2 showed a significant negative correlation.RR 60-69/min predicts hypoxia with 82/6% sensitivity, 86/4% specifity, 55/8% PPV, 96% NPV.Conclusion: These results indicated that a respiratory Rate>60/min is a good predictor of hypoxia in neonates brought to emergency service of hospital for any symptoms of acute illness.

Abstract:

The increase in the number of Pulses in multiPulse rectifiers leads to a reduction in harmonic current distortion. But this increase in the number of Pulses leads to an increase in kVA, cost, and complexity of the multi-Pulse rectifiers. As a result, in industrial applications, 12-Pulse rectifiers are mainly used due to their lightweight, simple transformers, and low kVA Rate, and low cost. The 12-Pulse rectifiers cannot meet the standard limitations of IEEE Std. 519 means that the harmonic distortion of the input current is less than 5%, so they are usually used with the filter. In recent years, in order to increase the number of Pulses and reduce the harmonic distortion of the input current without increasing cost and complexity in the 12-Pulse rectifier, passive harmonic mitigation in the DC link has been introduced. In this paper, a Pulse tripling circuit is proposed to upgrade the structure of a 12-Pulse rectifier to 36 Pulses with a very small kVA Rate (kV equivalent to 1.34% of the Rated load). Also, the 12-phase autotransformer used in the proposed structure is based on a polygon connection with a very low kVA Rate compared to other autotransformer structures. As a result, the total kV Rate of the proposed 36-Pulse rectifier is about 24% kV of nominal load. Simulation results show that the harmonic distortion of the total input current in the proposed rectifier is less than 3%.

Abstract:

Laryngoscopy and tracheal intubation is one of the safe methods of preserving the airway during surgery but it can disturb the hemodynamic status of patients through changing blood pressure and heartbeat Rate. This study is conducted to explore possible ways of preventing or reducing those changes to avoid ischemia, high blood pressure and heart failure. This clinical trial randomly involved 100 cases under general anaesthesia in Class I surgery with no history of CVD. They were randomly assigned into clonidine - taking and control groups. In the former, 90 – 120 minutes before anesthesia, 5 Mg/Kg oral clonidine was given to the patients. Their systolic, diastolic Bp and heartbeat were measured before induction and immediately after intubations. Anesthsia method was the same for both groups. The obtained measurements were compared using independent and paired t-test. Mean heartbeat Rate before induction in case and control groups were enhanced by 29.1% and 14% respectively after intubations. Systolic BP (clonidine 20.3% and control 9.4%), diastolic BP (clonidine 11.4% and control 6.4%) and mean arterial BP (15.2% and 7.6%) also had increased and the increase Rates were significant in both 6 groups (P<0.05). Although we experienced significant increases in the Rate of Pulse, systolic and diastolic and mean arterial blood pressure after intubation, the increase Rate in clonidine-taking group was half the Rate of inctease in the control group. We recommend clonidine as premedication particularly in patients susceptible to hemodynamic changes.

Abstract:

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of coping therapy on the Pulse Rate of women with stress in interpersonal relationships. The method of the present study is quasi-experimental and the statistical population includes all women with stress in interpersonal relationships whose adolescent children were studying in District 2 of Qom. In this regard, by available sampling, 100 women whose adolescent children were studying in Asia School in Qom in the academic year 1401-1400, answered the questions of the Stressful Life Events Questionnaire of McCabin and Thompson (1991). Of these people, 34 people who had obtained the highest score on this questionnaire were selected and randomly assigned to two groups of 17 people. Then the Pulse Rate of both groups was measured in three steps. Inclusion criteria were age between 25 and 50 years, marriage, and education level between tenth grade to diploma,Exclusion criteria were the presence of physical and mental illnesses that interfere with participation in treatment and training sessions. The experimental group 3 ﻪ, ﺤ, ﻔ, ﺻ, participated in 14 sessions of coping therapy and the experimental group participated in 14 sessions of neutral intervention in the field of medical and health education. The findings of three test stages were analyzed by ANCOVA statistical method by SPSS-26. Findings showed that coping therapy is a good way to improve the Pulse Rate of women with stress in interpersonal relationships. Therefore, this treatment can be used as a way to improve the physiological function of the heart, especially the Pulse Rate.

Abstract:

ackground: Patients scheduled for angiography experience pre-operative anxiety, which affects vital signs. Objectives: The current study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of orange essential oil aromatherapy on blood pressure, Pulse Rate, and respiratory Rate of patients before coronary angiography. Methods: In this clinical trial, 70 patients scheduled for coronary angiography were sepaRated into two groups of intervention and control. For those in the intervention group, two drops of orange essential oil were drip by emitters on a polyethylene handkerchief attached to the collar of the participants. Then, they were asked to breathe normally for 20 minutes. Vital signs were recorded before and after providing the intervention. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 16 using Chi-square, Fisher's exact test, independent ttest, U Mann-Whitney, Paired Wilcoxon, and paired t-test. Results: There was no significant difference between the two groups concerning the mean vital signs before providing the intervention. However, after providing the intervention, a significant difference was found concerning Pulse Rate (71. 3± 26. 79), respiratory Rate (15. 2± 11. 04), and systolic blood pressure (117. 9± 31. 47) between the two groups (P<0. 001). In the control group, no significant difference was found concerning the Pulse Rate (75. 3± 06. 72), respiratory Rate (17. 2± 18. 28), and systolic blood pressure (123. 8± 91. 91) before and after providing the intervention (P>0. 001), and this difference was significant between the two groups (P<0. 001). Also, there was no significant difference between the two groups concerning the diastolic blood pressure (P>0. 001). Conclusion: This study demonstRated that orange essential oil, as a complementary method, can reduce Pulse Rate, respiratory Rate, and systolic blood pressure in people undergoing coronary angiography. Therefore, it can be considered as a safe and cheap alternative therapeutic option.
